In the middle of a crisis for the CIA, the usually desk-bound agent Susan Cooper (Melissa McCarthy) is unexpectedly given the assignment of keeping an eye on an arms dealer (Rose Byrne) with access to a nuke. The Bridesmaids (2011) director reunited with McCarthy and Byrne for another comedy that is way too protracted. But he also makes sure that there is a steady stream of laughs and action throughout, as our hero battles both the arms dealer and a cocky renegade agent. Works largely because of its two leads who are hilarious, the latter sending himself up in a way that would have made Leslie Nielsen proud.
